Ride 2 Reentry Assistant

10 hours per week, $15-$17/hourly rate

Description:

  • The Ride 2 Reentry Assistant (R2RA) will assist the Ride 2 Reentry Coordinator (R2RC) in carrying out the Ride 2 Reentry Program.

  • The R2RA will tune, clean and prepare bikes as instructed by the R2RC.

  • The R2RA will assist with the Ride 2 Reentry Class for participants at OAR and facilitate the weekly class in the absence of the coordinator.  This includes basic bike fitting, component review, answering general questions about bikes, road safety and laws specific to Richmond City.  Instruction is also given to participants on handling police interactions and accidents.

  • Make calls to clients and schedule clients for classes as requested by R2RC.

  • The R2RA will teach participants the best practices for storing and locking bikes.

  • The R2RA will demonstrate GRTC bike rack use and articulate best practices.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Experience with bike maintenance and repair as well class facilitation, required. Experience riding bikes and traveling on GRTC buses with bikes, preferred. Shop experience is preferred.

Schedule:

This is a part-time, 10 hour per week position that has required hours on Mondays and Wednesdays during the day.
